Ross County Junior Fair Livestock Sale Buyers Letter

Dear Potential Buyer,

The Ross County Fair Junior Livestock Sale culminates a year of hard work by our young producers! This sale represents far more than marketing livestock. It provides our 4-H and FFA members the opportunity to show the community what they achieved with their livestock project. These young people have spent countless hours carefully feeding, grooming, and conditioning their animals to produce the best product available.

The continued success of our sale is a direct result of the strong support provided by you the community. Your participation demonstrates to the exhibitors that you appreciate the hard work and responsibility it takes to raise high-quality market animals.

Thank you,
Ross County Sale Committee

Attention - New This Year!

This year the Ross County Fair Board has changed the way the sale will be conducted and the business it encompasses. To streamline the auction and payment process, professional Auctioneer Drew Williams and his American Realty and Auction and Herd Builder Pro Teams has been hired to serve as the sale office staff, as well as collect all added money and sale money. The Fair Board intends to speed up the amount of time it takes for the youth to get their proceeds checks. To make this a more efficient process, the Ross County Sale Committee and the Ross County Fair Board have set up and laid out terms in a team effort with American Realty and Auction . We believe changes in the process will help not only the speed in which the youth participants are paid, but also improve your experience as a supporter, bidder, and buyer. Please read the new sale terms and as always thanks for your support and happy bidding!

Payment Terms. Add Ons and Party Buyers:

  • Payments are DUE at the end of sale each day unless you are a business with pre authorization, no exceptions. Payments may be made in cash, check, or credit card. All credit cards will have a 4% convenience fee applied.
  • Payments can be made at any time during the sale (immediately following a bid or at the end) in the sale office.
  • Buyers can place add-on money at any time during the sale in the sale office.
  • Multiple bidder cards will be allowed across the sale block this year. A bidder may choose to purchase the lot individually or allow other bidders to join the purchase. This is the decision of the highest bidder upon close of the lot. If the highest bidder does not allow others to be included in the purchase price, those bidders will be encouraged to go to the sale office to place an add-on for that lot. If multiple parties go together and split the animal price, the splits will have to be equal parts.

Sale Dates and Times:

  • Thursday 6:00PM - Hog
  • Friday 6:00PM - Goat, Lamb, Dairy, Beef
  • Saturday 9:00AM - Turkey, Chicken, Rabbit

Buyer Information:

Upon arrival, buyers should go to the registration table in the show arena and get registered. All buyers will need to bring their driver's license or legal form of identification for scanning to register. An auction team member will confirm contact and address, as well as issue your buyer number.

The Auctioneer will have the final say and will be always in control of the sale and increments. An auction bid constitutes a contract. When the Auctioneer says "sold," the winning buyer is at that point responsible to pay that bid price. FAILURE TO PAY YOUR BILL WILL be considered breach of contract for which you will be liable in Ross County Court to pay. Bidder also agrees to pay any court costs or legal fees associated with this transaction. All animals will be immediately consigned to slaughter UNLESS otherwise requested as a KEEP by the purchaser. Keep animals must be processed at the butcher designated by the Ross County Jr. Fair Sale Committee.
